UPCOMING EVENT: HOW TO BETTER ENGAGE WITH THOSE WHO SEEM TO DISREGARD THIS CRISIS - AND WHY THEY DO!
 Cornwall is mobilising.
From the border with England to the north, to way down in the wildness of the west, we're taking action in countless ways  across our extraordinary county to offer sanctuary to those people, adults, children, grandparents, young couples, and individuals caught up and forced to abandon their homes seek sanctuary somewhere across Europe and the Middle East. It's hard to imagine what it must be like to be as desperate, and how much you have to hope for some compassion in others, as you look for safety. There are a million ways offering sanctuary: if you're not sure how, and you want to join in, you're in exactly the right place.
Have a look below: click on an image for more info, including the clip from one of the events we have run this year. There's always something we can do. And there's always hope. :)

This event and this website was born of the Cornwall Refugee Resettlement Network. You can find out more here.

A Million Stories of Sanctuary from NINA CONSTABLE MEDIA on Vimeo.

We're cooking food where it's needed. And adding loads of love.
We're helping to build shelters. Who brings their tent when they're running away from bombs??
We're raising money. All over the place. For all sorts of things.
We're encouraging those politicians and agencies willing to stand out from the crowd.
We're buying ambulances. And then stocking them with medical supplies.
We're talking to our local politicians. Energetically, you might say.
We're collecting. And sorting. And packing. In containers as big as your house.
We're writing, and blogging, and drawing, and photographing, and above all determined to bear witness.
We're supporting each other, and learning how best to support others. We can't help others well, otherwise.
And did we mention...We Are Very Many.
And there are a million ways to get involved. Will you join us? :)

And check out the Cornwall Refugee Resettlement Network, the mother of this event and website.

With massive thanks to the most humbling Nina Constable, Ruby Brookman Prins, Ruby Ingleheart and so many others for their extraordinary images.
